VLADIMIR RUSHAYLO TO HEAD CIS OBSERVERS MISSION AT ELECTIONS TO PARLIAMENT OF AZERBAIJAN

(ITAR-РўРђSS) The CIS executive secretary Vladimir Rushaylo will head the CIS observers mission at the elections to the Parliament of Azerbaijan in November. It was the decision taken at the sitting of the Council of the permanent authorized representatives of the Commonwealth states in Minsk.

The mission’s headquarter will launch its work in Azerbaijan on 3-4 October 2005, deputy chairman of the CIS executive committee Asan Kojakov said. "Vladimir Rushaylo is scheduled to visit Baku on 23 September 2005 where he will announce the opening the CIS observers mission’s headquarters at the invitation of the Azerbaijani side”, Kojakov noted.

According to him, “a real monitoring” will be held вЂ" the mission’s representatives will work on all polling stations, watch the campaigning process, will hold analyses of the election legislation and after the voting they will voice their official attitude to the elections’ results. Two CIS states will not send observers to Azerbaijan- Ukraine and Armenia.
