Sheil-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade, the chairman of the Caucasus Clerical Board calls on the state officers not to evolve problems for head-geared women. The statement was made in a news conference held in Baku on Thursday.

“Head-gear is an important attribute of the religion, while I am concerned on the fact that some religious figures present it in another form,” he stressed. “I, as the Sheik-ul-silam, cannot go against the will of Allah and bar the women believers not to wear gears. But there are some slight elements in this issue,” Pashazade stressed.

According to Pashazade, there is no law in Azerbaijan that bans wearing gears and it would not be right to bar it. The problem should be resolved through mutual understanding, he stressed.
