Azerbaijan, Baku, 20 June / Trend corr J. Babayeva/ "The lowest passing score for the Baku branch of the Moscow State University (MSU) will be higher than that for Azerbaijani higher schools (250-300 scores)," Malayka Abbaszade, chairman of the Azerbaijan State Commission on Student Admission, said to journalists on 20 June.

On 15 January, Azerbaijani President decreed to open the Baku Branch of the Moscow State University named after Mikhail Lomonosov. The branch will commence operation in 2008/2009 academic year.

According to Abbaszade, only those applicants in Azerbaijan who collect over 500 scores can study abroad. "However, taking into account the fact that the Baku Branch of the MSU is not a university, the lowest passing score for it may be 400-450. We have not yet officially agreed on the scores," she said.

Abbaszade said form of competition to the MSU Baku Branch depends on Russia.
