Over the recent period, the incidents in the Azerbaijani Army have become too "blow", the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan said.
"I regret that some military experts and media outlets made insulting statements against the army, after some incidents," Eldar Sabiroglu said during debates in the media center.
On 23 June sergeant Safarov Orkhan shot at officers and soldiers from his service weapons in Seyfali military training area.
The sergeant was arrested for heinous crime.
Formerly, the head of the press service of Defense Ministry Eldar Sabiroglu said that the sergeant of the N military unit Orkhan Safarov was arrested in connection with the murder of four people and wounding a man during the military training.
A criminal case was filed against him in accordance with articles 120.2.4 (premeditated murder committed with particular cruelty) and 120.2.7 (premeditated murder of two or more persons) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan, a source at the Military Prosecutor's Office of Gazakh district told Trend .
According to unofficial information, sergeant killed military people because of insult.
The head of the Defense Ministry press service noted that sometimes the press does not correctly disseminate all the details of the incident.
"The incidents that have occurred in the army were crimes, and such accidents happen in all armies worldwide. In order to prevent such cases, the Ministry of Defense leadership takes serious measures. It is impossible to insult the entire army due to several cases," said Sabiroglu.
According to military expert Azad Isazade, incidents that occurred in the army are not accidental, and if the psychological training in the army would not be conducted in a right direction, such incidents will continue and the situation will be beyond control. "It needs to prevent these incidents within the law and not only punish, but also psychologically prepare. We need to strengthen the psychological training of officers and sergeants," said the military expert.
"The incident occurred due to the fact that one person was unable to "digest" the words said to him. Due to continuation of the investigation, I can not announce the details of the incident," said Sabiroglu.
"Nobody asked anything from the parents of dead soldiers. Press serves only as a defender of the rights of killed," added Sabiroglu
According to Isazade, the parent of the sergeant committing the crime appealed to him. He states that his son appealed to the commander of the military unit with a request to be transferred to another unit. He was not moved, and as a result, this incident happened.
