BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 24. A bust of the Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi was ceremoniously unveiled in Bishkek, Trend reports.
The initiative to install the poet's bust was carried out on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
Nizami Ganjavi is one of the most prominent poets of the medieval East, who addressed themes of social injustice and criticized the inaction of officials in his works.
The bust unveiling ceremony was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, politicians, public figures, and school students.
Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani schools operate in Bishkek. Last year, a Park of Friendship between the two countries was also opened there.
