Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend S.Ilhamgizi / The Chairman of the Supervisory and Control Commission of the Press Council of Azerbaijan and also co- ordinator of the Council's Permanent Commission for Problems between Press and State Bodies, Ibrahim Mammadly , stated that the Press Council will appeal to the State Head of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
According to him, the meeting of the Executive Board of the Council will focus on the Day of Press - 22nd of July. In addition, the meeting will make a decision regarding the appeal to the State Head. The document will propose the release of seven arrested journalists.
Further, the Press Council will provide an appeal to Academician, MP Jalal Aliyev, according to whose lawsuits, two journalists were sentenced to two and a half years of imprisonment. The appeal will request the revoking of the accusations with regards to the Editor-in-Chief of Mukhalifet newspaper Rovshan Kebirly and employee of the newspaper, Yashar Agazade .
In addition, the Press Council have prepared an appeal to the Appeal Court.
