BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. A total of 12.8 million tons of cargo were transported from Italy to the ports of Türkiye from January through July 2023, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.
Ships under the Turkish flag delivered 3.7 million tons of cargo from Italy to the ports of Türkiye, while ships under the flags of other countries - 8.8 million tons.
In addition, ships under the flag of Italy delivered 336,036 tons of cargo to Turkish ports during the specified period . A total of 15 million tons of transit cargo were transported from Italy to the ports of Türkiye from January through July 2023.
In general, Turkish ports handled 32.5 million tons of cargo in July 2023.
In addition, cargo transportation by ships under the country's flag through domestic ports amounted to 2.5 million tons during the specified period.
Cargo transportation through the ports of Türkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 30.1 million tons.
