Investments in fixed capital increase in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 12. In Azerbaijan, investments in fixed capital amounted to 10.8 billion manat ($6.3 billion) from January through August 2023, which is 15.4 percent more year-on-year, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, the volume of investments in the oil and gas sector increased by 12.2 percent and in non-oil sectors by 17.1 percent.

At the same time, 57.1 percent of investments in fixed capital (over 6.1 billion manat, which is $3.5 billion) went to the sphere of production, 37.9 percent (4.1 billion manat, which is $2.4 billion) went to services, and 5 percent (549 million manat, which is $322 million) went to the construction of residential houses. Domestic funds accounted for 76.7 percent of investments (over 8.3 billion manat, which is $4.8 billion) directed to fixed capital.

During the mentioned period, over 7.9 billion manat ($4.6 billion), or 73 percent of the funds directed to fixed capital, were spent on construction and installation works.

In the total amount of funds directed to fixed capital, the funds of enterprises and organizations made up 46.1 percent, budget funds made up 39.3 percent, personal funds of the population made up 6.5 percent, bank loans made up 2.8 percent, and other funds made up 5.3 percent.

Also, investments in fixed capital amounted to 18.2 billion manat ($10.7 billion) in 2022, which is 5.5 percent more year-on-year.
