Georgia, Tbilisi, May 20 / Trend , N. Kirtskhalia/

The last statement by the radical opposition about blocking the railway has dramatically reduced railway transportation, Georgian Railway Office Head Irakli Ezugbaya said.

He said the opposition leaders recently threatened not only to block the railway, but also to "explode" after which large companies such as Chevron and ExxonMobil have reduced cargo transportation to a great degree. Some companies have even suspended transportation.

"The growth of transportation has shrunk 25 percent compared to March," he said.

He said as many as 15,000 people are employed with the Georgian Railway Office and they are provided with good social conditions. Extra 30,000 jobs are created thanks to various orders, he said.
