Global financial crisis not affects issuing of social benefits in Azerbaijan

The global financial and economic crisis had no impact on issuing social security benefits in Azerbaijan. Population receives a monthly allowance, as it was in the pre-crisis period, Director of Social Welfare Fund of the Nizami district of Baku Ali Aliyev said on June 30.

"Some 4,250 people receive the target social aid in the Nizami district of Baku," Aliyev said.

Of them, 3,500 people repeatedly receive the target social aid, he said. The level of the target social aid, according to the subsistence minimum in the country, is 60 manats.

Azerbaijan introduced the target social aid on July 1 in 2006. As of July 1, the number of recipients of the target social aid is 817,350 people in the country. The average amount of the aid for one family in the country is 98.19 manats and for one person - 21.56 manats.
