The Labor Inspectorate under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Labor and Social Protection resumes raids at production facilities, head of the inspection Nabi Shukurlu said at a press-conference today.
"The raids will be conducted on the basis of the inspection program in April. They cover all sectors of the economy, where workers' rights are violated most of all," Shukurlu said.
According to him, seasonal production facilities will be mainly checked.
According to the Labor Inspectorate, about 29 accidents took place at production facilities in Azerbaijan in January-February, including 7 in the construction sector. About 10 people died, including 5 in the construction sector. The company was responsible in six cases (three in the construction sector), victim - in 15 cases, the company and victims in four cases.
April 28 is declared as the International Labor Protection Day. According to the World Labor Organization, about 2.2 million people die at production facilities in the world every year.
