The capacity of the Azerbaijani major steel producer, Baku Steel Company, is 350,000 tons per year, General Director Suleyman Mammadov said in an interview today with official press.
"These indicators were achieved as a result of the reconstruction of the plant's equipment, particularly the installation of a more powerful electric transformer," Mammadov said.
According to him, the company provides the domestic market with high-quality reinforcement. The number of the plant's employees is 1,800 people.
According to Mammadov, there is a strong demand for the Baku Steel Company's products on the market. Therefore, the company's staff carries out serious control over the quality of produced products. Institutes and laboratories operating in the country are also involved in checking the quality of the plant's products.
"Given the demand on domestic and foreign markets, the Baku Steel Company intends to expand the product range in 2011," Mammadov said.
According to him, in the near future, the plant will produce setsquares, channels, rolled wire, and wire, as well as begin to manufacture metal products. The plant has already purchased the appropriate equipment to manufacture new products.
