Today there is a favorable situation for Azerbaijani agricultural production joining European markets, Azerbaijan's Agriculture Minister Ismet Abasov said during a meeting with a delegation of the European Parliament on Friday, the ministry's statement said. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss situation in the country' agricultural sector and situation with the use of pesticides left over from Soviet times.
"International organizations show great interest in the agrarian sector of Azerbaijan," Abasov said.
The Minister noted various pests enter the country from the Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenian forces and the other party has taken no action against it. He stressed the importance of discussing this issue in the European Parliament.
"Azerbaijan will continue to work closely with European parliamentarians in the use of pesticides," the Minister said.
