Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Ukraine may increase

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Ukraine can reach $2 billion in 2012, Ukraine's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishchenko said on Wednesday.
"If major Ukrainian companies come to the Azerbaijani market, and vice versa, it is possible, " the ambassador said.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Ukraine reached $1.5 billion at the end of 2011, where the principal article of trade accounts for oil and gas. Last year, 704 tons of oil was exported to Ukraine, Mishchenko said.
Large Ukrainian construction companies aren't represented in Azerbaijan at the moment.
Ukrainian companies are willing to participate in the construction of infrastructural facilities such as subways, bridges, sewer systems, as well as hydroelectric plants and so on.
A regular meeting of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation will be held in late May - early June in Kiev, Mishchenko added. Prospects of cooperation in transport, energy, military-industrial complex, the aerospace industry will be
discussed at the meeting.
