Two modern sponge iron manufacturing plants will start operating in Iran's Isfahan, opening around 700 new job spots, IRNA reported.

Country's president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is in Isfahan, taking part in the opening of a new development plan at the Mobarek Metallurgy Complex.

The development plan includes opening the before mentioned modern sponge iron manufacturing plants within the complex. Reportedly, these two plants will be the biggest of such in the whole country.

Each of those plants will be manufacturing slightly over 1.5 million tons of sponge iron annually. The plants were originally built at the complex back in 2008.
