The producer price index fell by 0.8 percent in Georgia in April 2013 compared to the previous month.
The Georgian Statistics Agency said today that the producer price index increased by 62 percent compared to the average index of 2005.
A price change in the following groups had the main influence on the formation of the producer price index in April 2013. The prices in the processing industry fell by 1 percent. The decrease in prices was recorded in the manufacture of cellulose, paper and publishing industry (18.5 percent), tobacco products (1.9 percent).
The prices increased by 1.6 percent in the production and distribution of electricity, gas and water supply.
The prices in the processing industry fell by 1.3 percent.
The prices declined in the steel industry and the production of finished steel products (5.1 percent).
However, the prices increased in the production of food (including drinks) and tobacco (1.6 percent).
The prices in the production and distribution of electricity, gas and water supply fell by 1.4 percent in April.
