Iran exported 2,000 tons of jet fuel to Afghanistan in the current Iranian fiscal year, which started on March 21, till August 29.
Managing director of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company Nasser Sajjadi said that the country is ready to export jet fuel to every other country, Iran's IRNA news agency reported on September 5.
He also said that gasoline consumption in the domestic market has reached 72 million liters per day on average, of which some 9 percent is imported.
Meanwhile, 35 million liters of fuel oil was consumed in the past Iranian fiscal year, but the figure fell to 25 million liters in the current year.
On May 30, Saeed Mahjoobi, an official with the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said Iran has been turned into the world's biggest fuel oil exporter. For the time being, some 100 million liters of fuel oil is produced in the country's refineries, he noted.
Exporting fuel oil in large volumes is on the agenda, he said, adding that fuel oil has been replaced with natural gas in many power plants and industrial units in the country.
