Azerbaijan eyes to increase purchase price for raw cotton

Azerbaijan’s Agriculture Ministry has proposed to increase the purchase price for raw cotton in the country, the ministry said in a message Dec. 14.

The issue was discussed by the ministry’s leadership at a meeting with cotton producing companies.

An agreement was reached within the framework of the meeting to increase the purchase price for one ton of raw cotton by 100-110 manats for each grade.

Thus, in 2018, the purchase price for one ton of raw cotton is planned at 600 manats (earlier 500 manats) for the first grade cotton, 580 manats (earlier 470 manats) for the second grade cotton, 540 manats (earlier 440 manats) for the third grade cotton and 500 manats (earlier 400 manats) for the fourth grade cotton.
