Joining Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is an internal matter of Uzbekistan and it depends on the republic’s position, said Dmitry Medvedev, the Prime Minister of Russia, Trend reports referring to the press office of the Prime Minister.

“We always stood by the policy that we never pressure anyone. At the same time, new members are welcome to the Eurasian Economic Union,” he said in an interview to Rossiya (Russia) TV following his visit to Uzbekistan.

Prime minister also noted that the EAEU membership brings its participants certain benefits and advantages.

“Our friends from Uzbekistan are just looking into the processes that are taking place. The question is in the basis with which the country enters the union and what goals they pursue. We are ready to discuss these topics,” Medvedev said.

Currently, members of EAEU include Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
