Uzbekistan, Germany to establish JV

The Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan and the German company Integra Gmbh have agreed to set up a joint venture in the field of nuclear medicine and radiation technologies, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

The purpose of the agreement is to create a production of cyclotron radioisotopes on the territory of the Institute of Nuclear Physics for the production and sale of cyclotron radioisotope products in the domestic and international markets.

Moreover, the establishment of a Radiation Exposure Center to provide radiation processing services for manufacturers of medical and industrial products as well as food and agricultural products is also planned.

Institute of Nuclear Physics, together with the German side, will determine the equipment to be supplied, including a 30 MeV cyclotron, an electron accelerator, a transport system and hot cells.
