Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has instructed to comprehensively study the issue of establishing air communication with cities of the countries of the EU within two months, Trend reports Oct. 15 with reference to the Altyn Asyr TV channel.
The report says that the Turkmenistan Airlines company operates on a self-supporting basis.
In this regard, it is necessary to determine the most popular directions, based on the calculation of market prices, having thought over all forthcoming expenses and incomes, the Turkmen president said.
The head of state stressed that the Turkmen air carrier will be able to further expand the geography of regular international passenger transportation and increase the frequency of flights on existing routes. Turkmen Deputy Prime Minister Bayramgeldy Ovezov was given a number of instructions regarding ensuring flight safety and increasing the level of passenger service to high international standards.
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has recently allowed restoring flights by Turkmenistan Airlines to the EU countries, which were suspended in February 2019 due to the need to confirm the company's compliance with international flight safety standards. The resumption of flights from Ashgabat to Frankfurt has been already announced.
