Russia's financial development institution approves deal with Uzbekistan on pumping stations

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Dec. 14

The Supervisory Board of the Major financial development institution of Russia supported the deal on the acquisition of Russian pumping stations by Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing the institution.

"The transaction was supported on the acquisition by Uzbekistan of pumping stations for the modernization of water pumping stations. These stations are manufactured in Russia. In essence, this is support for Russia's exports to foreign countries," the chairman of the institution Igor Shuvalov said after the final annual meeting of the supervisory board.

He also added that the first stage of modernization of pumping stations in Uzbekistan was approved at the meeting.

In accordance with the program, it is planned to modernize about 300 pumping stations. As part of the project, a credit line in the amount of up to $267.3 million will be opened at the first stage, due to which export deliveries of Russian hydraulic equipment will be financed.
