The export of fruits and vegetables from Azerbaijan amounted to $607.5 million in 2020, which slightly exceeds the export revenues of 2019, Chairman of the Fruit and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association Bashir Guliyev told Trend.
According to Bashirov, the volume of exports over the past year amounted to 606.5 tons, which is 3.4 percent less than in the preceding year.
"The decrease in exports from Azerbaijan is not beneficial, first of all, to farmers, as they incur losses because of this. In 2021, we’re going to start cooperation with new countries," Guliyev said.
The Azerbaijani Fruit and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association were established on September 16, 2016, to coordinate the activity of entrepreneurs engaged in the production and export of fruits and vegetables in the country, expand cooperation among them, increase the total production volume of fruits and vegetables and expand the country's export opportunities.
Currently, there are 60 members of the association.
To join the association, an official application should be submitted in the appropriate form, and fill out the registration form. Annual membership fees are paid after the approval of the application by the board of the association.
