Georgia purchased 428,000 tons of cement worth $21.2 million from January through July 2021, Trend reports citing the Georgian National Statistical Office (Geostat).
For the same period last year, cement imports amounted to 472,000 tons, and the amount paid exceeded $ 24.5 million.
Accordingly, the import of cement decreased by 9.3 percent.
According to the data, cement comes to Georgia mainly from Azerbaijan and Turkey.
For the first 7 months of this year, Georgia paid $14.5 million for 312,700 tons of Azerbaijani cement. Georgia paid $6.6 million for the import of 115,300 tons of cement from Turkey.
