Iran sees decrease in exports to Iraq via Parvizkhan border checkpoint

Iran’s exports to Iraq through the Parvizkhan border checkpoint in the Kermanshah Province (western Iran) decreased by 45 percent in value and 47 percent in volume, during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through January 20, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Director General of the Parvizkhan border checkpoint Ghasem Motallebi told IRNA, Trend reports.

The director general emphasized that Iran exported 1.95 million tons of goods worth $805 million to Iraq through the Parvizkhan border checkpoint in 10 months.

“Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the exports amounted to 3.73 million tons worth $1.48 billion” he added.

Motallebi noted that fruits and vegetables, ceramics and fittings were the main goods exported to Iraq via the border checkpoint. The goods were transported by 76,411 trucks.
