Iran sees surge in number of international flights

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 20. The number of international flights (passenger planes only) through Iranian airports rose by 14.3 percent, during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through October 22, 2023), compared to the same period last year, Trend reports.

Data from Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC) shows that a total of 16,552 international flights were carried out from Iran’s airports over 7 months.

In the same period the previous year, the number of international flights from Iran’s airports was 14,487.

There are 54 active civil airports in Iran. Some 14 of them are international airports. On average, 30 million passengers are transported through Iranian airports per year.
