BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 28. Iran’s Qom Province, located in the north of the country, exported about 181,000 tons of non-oil products worth approximately $162 million in the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023), Director General of Qom Province Customs Office Esfandiar Derikvandi said, Trend reports.

The customs official noted that the province expanded its export markets to 33 countries, mainly Iraq, the UAE, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Türkiye.

Derikvandi added that the province also diversified its export products to 34 types of goods, including lead, footwear, polystyrene, agricultural products, steel ingots, washing machines, etc.

According to him, it is possible to increase the export of non-oil products from Qom province by investing in various manufacturing enterprises and supporting entrepreneurs operating in various economic fields.

The director general also said that the revenues of Qom Province’s customs amounted to 6.7 trillion rials (about $160 million) in 9 months.

According to the latest data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Iran exported around 102 million tons of non-oil products worth $36.4 billion in the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2023). This is a decrease of 0.68 percent in value, while an increase of 26.5 percent in volume compared to the same period last year.
