Azerbaijan & Belarus Ahead in Industry Growth for January-September

The industry growth rate from January to September 2006 saw Azerbaijan and Belarus in the lead, at 39.2% and 12.2% respectively, amongst the CIS countries, as compared with last year, Trend reports citing PRIME-TASS.

According to the CIS International Statistics Committee, industrial production in Russia rose 4.2%. Russia therefore occupied 6th place in the CIS regarding its industry growth rate.

As a result of a 9-month drop of industrial production, the output was fixed in Kyrgyzstan (11.4%), Moldova (7%) and Armenia 1.6%. Moldova, with a 9.1% inflation rate was in the lead in January to September 2006. It was followed by Tajikistan with a rise in consumer prices of 9% and Russia of 7.2%.
