Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 April / Trend corr E. Ismayilov/ The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to increase the debit of the well which was drilled in the West Absheron field in the first quarter of 2008 from current 14.5 barrel of oil per day to 55 barrel of oil per day, the SOCAR-owned Absheronneft oil and gas producing unit said on 4 April. The debit will be expanded through setting up of a compressor at the well.
It is planned to launch drilling of a new exploration well- 61 in the West Absheron field in the near future.
"The results of the exploration drilling will show whether to drill the well-62 or not," Absheronneft said.
Drilling of the two exploration wells is required to specify the mineable reserves in the field.
"If attractive hydrocarbons are found, producing wells will be drilled in the field and a platform will be set up," Absheronneft said.
