The Heydar Aliyev Deep Water Jacket Plant will finish constructing two units at the Neft Dashlari-2585 platform, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) said on Feb. 4.
"We plan to complete construction in mid-2009," the source said.
Two additional units will be built at a height of 64 meters.
He said they have not received orders to build the upper structure of the platform.
Neftegazstroy trust will construct the two remaining units in Zigh, SOCAR said.
The new platform has a 50-year exploitation term in sea conditions, SOCAR reported.
The platform will be located at a 46-meter depth.
Plans include dispatching two units to the field soon.
"Both the upper structure and units are ready and will dispatched in the near future," the source said.
"Construction is ongong and will end within a month," the plant said.
These measures were taken after a presidential decree to increase production at the Neft Dashlari Oil and Gas Production Unit (OGPU) from 812,000 to 1.2 million tons of oil.
According to SOCAR geologists, the remaining oil at the Neft Dashlari field is 30 million tons.
SOCAR will drill 78 new wells to up production by 2010.
