UOP expresses willingness to participate in construction of new petrochemical complex in Azerbaijan

American company UOP is ready to use its experience in possible participation in preparing a feasibility study of a new oil and gas processing and petrochemical complex to be built in Azerbaijan, the head of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev said in Baku on Thursday during a meeting with UOP President Rajeev Gautam, SOCAR reported.

He said that UOP is ready to apply modern technology in the enterprise configuration, which will be built in the new complex, as well as to conduct the work necessary in the sphere of integration and optimization. He assured that the company has extensive experience and advanced technologies in order to prepare the most optimal concept for a new complex in the shortest possible time.

According to him, UOP integration with Honeywell International Corporation has greatly increased its capabilities.

Abdullayev said the construction of the new complex will be a new stage in oil and gas processing, especially in the field of petrochemistry.

Highly assessing the great interest of UOP and Honeywell International in the project of the new complex, Abdullayev stressed that before the construction of a new plant to meet the country's increasing demand in gasoline reconstruction and optimization work should be carried out at the Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev.

SOCAR leadership expressed confidence that further cooperation of specialists of SOCAR and UOP, which has the copyright to these installations, will yield positive results.
