The new rules of delivering technical conditions in the gas sector, as well as the connection rules for consumers among the population may be approved in Azerbaijan in the near future, the head of the state gas control office under the Ministry of Industry and Energy Asif Zeynalov told Trend today.
At present, these documents are under consideration in the Cabinet of Ministers.
Zeynalov said that they can be approved in early March-April.
The new rules are aimed at ensuring the interests of consumers in the gas sector. They will allow consumers to contact the department to deal with cases of refusal from the gas connection by the gas operator of the country - SOCAR's "Azerigaz" production association.
"The new rules expand the sphere of the department's activity," Zeynalov said.
Last year, the Cabinet of Ministers approved new rules for gas use in Azerbaijan.
