The development plan of South Pars gas field's phase 19 has progressed by 40 per cent, the managing director of the Petropars Company Mohammad Javad Shams stated, the ISNA news agency reported.

The second jacket platform for phase 19 of the South Pars gas field was installed successfully in August.

The platform was installed at the offshore section of the gas field taking two weeks, according to the Shana News Agency.

Phase 19 of the South Pars gas field is aimed at producing 50 million cubic meters of refined gas per day scheduled to be injected into the national gas pipeline network.

The project also intends to produce 80,000 barrels of gas condensate and 400 tons of sulphur each day.

Production of 1050 tons of LPG and one million tons of ethane as petrochemical feedstock per year are among the other goals of the phase 19 development.

The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight per cent of the total world reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.
