Shipment of tankers from SOCAR’s Black Sea oil terminal down

Black Sea oil terminal of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) in Kulevi (Georgia) shipped 112 tankers in the three quarters of 2016, which is 25.8 percent less than in the same period of 2015 (151 tankers), the terminal’s website said.

As many as 42 tankers were shipped from the terminal in the first quarter of 2016, while 39 tankers were shipped in the second quarter of 2016, and 31 tankers were shipped in the third quarter of 2016. In 2015, these figures amounted to 52, 46 and 53 tankers, respectively.

The terminal in Georgia's Kulevi was commissioned in May 2008 and the oil transshipment started in June of the same year. The total capacity of the terminal is 10 million tons of bulk-oil cargo per year, three million tons of oil, three million tons of diesel fuel and four million tons of fuel oil.

The total capacity of the terminal's tank farm is 320,000 cubic meters with the possibility of reaching 380,000 cubic meters.
