Azerbaijani company Sumaks has launched production of battery charge controllers for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) sources used at facilities of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, head of the company Javid Mammadov told Trend.
He said that the controllers used earlier in the UPS were subjected to laboratory tests, as a result of which it turned out that they aren’t equipped with protection from power surges.
“For this reason, they regularly broke down, and SOCAR had to buy them outside the country at inflated prices,” he noted.
“We have already established their production, and the first batch will be delivered to the customer in the near future. Having established their production in Azerbaijan, we were able to ensure import substitution for this product.”
