Work to increase oil extraction from Kazakhstan's Tengiz field underway

The construction of Third Generation Plant of Tengizchevroil company within the framework of Future Growth Project, which is being implemented on Tengiz oil field, is well under way, Trend reports with reference to press office of prime minister of Kazakhstan.

The information became known during the visit of Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin to Atyrau region, where he held a meeting to discuss issues of local content development, oil and gas mechanical engineering, as well as compliance with labor legislation.

“The construction work is taking place on the site, including underground cable laying and reservoirs installation,” the report said. “Currently, 23 pre-fabricated modular flyovers have been installed at the site. Furthermore, the assembling of two gas turbine generators and technological modules has been successfully completed.”

“Some 25 contracting and subcontracting organizations work on the construction site, which include up to 3,300 employees. The project is to be completed in 2022,” the message read.

Following the work on increase of the Tengiz oil field’s oil extraction volume, the extraction on the field will be increased by 12 million tons and equal 39 million tons a year.
