The development of the Iran-Iraq joint Naft Shahr oil field (called Naft Khan in Iraq) in the Kermanshah Province (western Iran) will be completed over the next month, an official of Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), Parviz Salehvand said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

Salehvand noted that there is currently 75 percent physical progress in field operations, and necessary equipment will be installed on a well of the field within the next month.

The official also added that 1 new well was drilled and 4 wells were repaired in this field. In total, about 3,500 meters of excavations were carried out.

“A total of $30 million was spent on the development of the Naft Shahr oil field,” he said.

As reported, it is estimated Iran's Naft Shahr oil field contains about 692 million barrels of crude oil. Iran extracts daily 5,000 barrels of crude oil from this field. Crude oil extracted from the wells of the field is transported to the Naft shahr Oil Center, and after the first refining to the Kermanshah Oil Refining Company.
