BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 1. Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) is implementing a program to increase production from the Tang-e-Bijar gas field, Executive Director of the ICOFC Mehdi Heydari said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.
Heydari noted that with the development and commissioning of the second phase of the Tang-e-Bijar gas field, a total of 11 million cubic meters of gas will be able to produce daily from this field.
“As a result, the fuel needed by the Ilam gas refinery will be fully supplied. At present, 6.8 million cubic meters of gas are sent to the refinery per day, and the volume is expected to reach 11 million cubic meters per day,” he added.
The director emphasized that due to low gas supply, the Ilam gas refinery currently operates below 15 percent of production capacity.
Iran's Tang-e-Bijar gas field is located 70 km southwest of Ilam city. The field can produce 7 million cubic meters of gas and 7,000 barrels of gas condensate per day.
