BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Kazakhstan is planning to launch 40 renewable energy projects by 2025, Kazakhstan's Energy Ministry Bolat Akchulakov said, Trend reports.
He noted that the launch of 11 renewable energy projects is planned only this year alone.
Of this, five projects are at the stage of commissioning. Of these, 3 are solar power plants and 2 are wind power plants.
Commenting on the subsoil use projects, Akchulakov noted that this year, the implementation of the Karachaganak expansion project has begun.
Furthermore, a water treatment plant project is being implemented at the Kashagan field. Also, projects for the expansion of phase 2A and phase 2B are being considered to increase production at Kashagan.
A total of 18 contracts for the extraction and supply of various equipment were signed around large subsoil users (TCO, NCOC, KPO).
By 2024, KazMunayGas intends to launch the 1st stage of the project for the reconstruction and expansion of the Astrakhan-Mangyshlak main water pipeline. In the period from 2023 to 2024, it is planned to build a seawater desalination plant at the Tukymak field in the Mangystau region, he said.
