STAR Refinery increases diesel fuel output

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. STAR Refinery, owned by Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Türkiye, has produced 639,269 tons of diesel fuel in April 2023, as compared to 601,035 tons in the same month of 2022, Trend reports.

As such, the refinery’s diesel output volume grew by 6.4 percent year-on-year, reveals the data from the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

SOCAR Türkiye plans to process over 12 million tons of oil at its STAR Refinery in 2023. In the manufacturing of petrochemical products, crude oil from the countries of the Black Sea region, Africa and a number of others is used.

The annual processing capacity of STAR Refinery is 10 million tons. It meets around 25 percent of Türkiye’s refined oil products. The refinery is able to process 214,000 barrels of crude oil per day.

STAR Refinery, with investment value of $6.3 billion came on stream in October 2018. Around $3.3 billion of the project’s cost was covered by loans.
