Nika Gilauri: Azerbaijan managed to find additional 2 million cubic meters of natural gas for Georgia

Georgia will receive additional 2 million cubic meters of natural gas from Azerbaijan, the Georgian Energy Minister Nika Gilauri said in a statement on 24 January upon his arrival to Tbilisi from Baku, Trend reports.

As Gilauri stated, at the result of the successful talks with the relevant structures of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan counterparts managed to find additional 2 million cubic meters of gas for Georgia. Georgia will receive 5 million cubic meters of natural gas from Azerbaijan, which is sufficient for the gas supply of Tbilisi and switching on the 9-th power unit. Loading of Tbilisi will start today, Gilauri stated. 3 million cubic meters from this amount will be supplied by the Russian Gazprom to Azerbaijan.

The Energy Minister thanked all who provided during the crisis the proper operation of the Georgian energy system, Kavkaz Press reports.
