The issue on the construction of the gas compression station for pressuring of low-pressure gas in Shallow-Water Gunashli field which is developed by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, is under resolution, the Ministry of Industry and Energy told Trend. The construction of the stations is scheduled for 2007.

At present preparations for announcement of a tender on definition of a company to implement the project are underway. Besides, the preparations for the development of feasibility study of the project clarification of its value also continue.

Under the project it is planned to construct a gas compression station in the vacant part of the Gunashli-4 platform. The station will enable to increase the pressure of low-pressure gas and to transport to the shore. The construction of the gas-compression station on Gunashli field will enable to lift up to 4.9 billion cu m of gas a year from the field by 2010. At present the figure is equal to 2.2 billion cu m a year.

At present some 1.6 million cu m of low-pressure natural gas is thrown to atmosphere from the shallow water Gunashli field and around 800,000 cu m from Chirag field.
