IMF talks forecast of money supply growth in Azerbaijan for 2021-2022

Baku, Azerbaijan, April 13

The broad money supply (M3) in Azerbaijan will increase by 6.6 percent for the current year, Trend reports on April 13 with reference to the April report of the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) Regional Economic Outlook: Middle East and Central Asia.

The growth rate will reach seven percent in 2022 in accordance with the IMF forecasts.

Earlier, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said that in general, cash supply in circulation increased by 13.8 percent (1.4 billion manat that’s $823 million) up to 11.8 billion manat ($6.9 billion) in 2020.

The money supply in the broad money (M3) in Azerbaijan reached 28.6 billion manat ($16.8 billion) by late February 2021.

In general, the growth of Azerbaijan's GDP in 2021 is forecasted by the IMF at the level of 2.3 percent.
