BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Banks in Iran issued loans worth 1.83 quadrillion rials (about $43.6 billion) in the housing and construction sector, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to statistics, about 440 trillion rials (about $10.5 billion) worth of loans were issued for construction work in the housing and construction sector within the last Iranian year.

In addition, Iranian banks issued loans worth 505 trillion rials (about $12 billion) as working capital in this sector.

Over the reporting period, 312 trillion rials (about $7.43 billion) worth of loans were issued for repair work and 172 trillion rials (about $4.1 billion) for development work in the housing and construction sector.

Furthermore, Iranian banks issued loans worth 231 billion rials (about $5.5 million) for the purchase of personal assets in the housing and construction sector, 375 trillion rials (about $8.95 billion) for the purchase of housing, and 27.4 trillion rials (about $654 million) for other purposes.

In total, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 29.7 quadrillion rials (about $707 billion) in various economic sectors over the last Iranian year.

The figure stood at 10.4 quadrillion rials (about $248 billion) in the preceding Iranian year (March 20, 2020 through March 20, 2021).
