BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 23. In total, over 7.2 million bank checks worth approximately 3.98 quadrillion rials (about $94.7 billion) were exchanged in Iran for the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), Trend reports via the report of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, this is an increase of 8.1 percent in value and 3.3 percent in number compared to the 8th month (October 23 through November 21, 2022).

Overall, more than 6.7 million checks worth 3.64 quadrillion rials (about $86.7 billion) were received in Iran in the 9th month. This is an increase of 9 percent in value and 3 percent in number compared to the 8th month.

At the same time, over 500,000 checks worth about 340 trillion rials (about $8.09 billion) bounced in the 9th month, which is a decrease of 0.8 percent in value, while an increase of 0.8 percent in number compared to the 8th month.

The reason for the bounce of checks was the lack of available funds.
