BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 19. Italy's foreign direct investment (FDI) in Azerbaijan surged in the first quarter of 2024, amounting to $2.06 million, Trend reports.
Calculations based on data from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan show that this figure rose by 51.65 times ($2 million) compared to the first quarter of 2023 ($40,000).
The share of FDI from Italy in total FDI in Azerbaijan in the first quarter of this year made up 0.1 percent.
Meanwhile, FDI from Azerbaijan in Italy's economy amounted to $15.78 million (a growth of 116.54 percent and a share of 4.8 percent).
To note, total FDI in Azerbaijan's economy amounted to $6.6 billion (6.1 percent growth) last year.
