Incoming Internet traffic increases in Azerbaijan

The volume of incoming Internet traffic in Azerbaijan increased by 15.5 million minutes in January-March compared to the same period in 2010 and amounted to 166.6 million minutes, the Azerbaijani Communications and IT Ministry recently reported.
According to the ministry, the volume of outgoing traffic hit 40.1 million minutes, increasing by 2.8 million minutes.
The number of international telephone channels also increased by 1,265 units and hit 9,175 units.
The AZNET segment's throughput capacity also increased 2.7 times to 40 Gbps.
A confidentiality agreement was signed recently with KazTransCom in connection with the laying of the Caspian segment of a new fiber-optic cable line.
During the first quarter of this year, the cable line was laid in the Russian direction.
