Azerbaijan imported 441,578 mobile phones and other mobile devices worth around $38.932 million in January-August 2017, the country’s State Statistics Committee told Trend Oct. 16.
The number of mobile phones imported by the country increased by around 2.2 times in January-August 2017 as compared to January-August 2016.
Azerbaijan imported 200,796 mobile phones in January-August 2016. In terms of value, the figure also increased by 90.6 percent.
On average, more than 55,000 mobile devices have been imported into the country monthly since early 2017.
