The online cadastral measurement system AZPOS-Real time GNSS has started functioning in Azerbaijan, Trend reports.

Director of Project and Research Center for Cadastre and Land Management at the State Committee on Property Issues Farid Jafarov made the announcement during the presentation of the system held at the Center. It was noted that currently, 37 stations with modern equipment, which provides uninterrupted operation, operate in Azerbaijan.

The peculiarity of these stations is the possibility to carry out territory analysis during geodetic works, as well as cadastral measurements, due to satellite communication and online connection between the stations.

Jafarov noted that this system will be an indispensable tool in agriculture for exploring and processing the land, in road construction, in geodesic and exploration work by oil companies, as well as during design and construction works for the purpose of exploring landfill sites.

AZPOS system receives signals from the GPS navigation system and from the satellites of the Russian Glonass system, which makes it possible to accurately determine the coordinates of the terrain when compiling the map.

All information received from the satellites is transmitted to the global differentiated navigation satellite system, and after processing it is transmitted to the AZPOS network database. It was noted that this system was launched with the support of the World Bank in the framework of the “Real Estate Registration" project.

Furthermore, both legal and physical persons can be connected to the system, having registered at the Design and Research Center for Cadastre and Land Management.
