Russian GLONASS JSC and Uzbek SmartGeo LLC signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the development of information and communication technologies (ICT) in the field of transport security, Trend reports citing the Uzbek media.
The memorandum was signed on October 1 in Tashkent at the fourth meeting of the Uzbek-Russian Business Council.
During the event, information was given to representatives of business circles of the two countries on measures taken in Uzbekistan to simplify customs procedures between the two countries, including the introduction of a “simplified customs corridor” mechanism for the import and export of goods.
Main promising sectors of the Uzbek economy were also presented at the meeting. The Russian side was familiarized with the results of the economic reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan and the favorable conditions created in the country for investing and doing business .
GLONASS JSC is a Russian operator of the state automated information system ERA-GLONASS.
SmartGeo is a set of interconnected distributed navigation-oriented geographic databases containing metadata, a metric description of the chain-node structure of the road network with attribute information, rules for maneuvering on the roads, and user points of interest (POIs).
